Solving Societal Issues
Solving Societal IssuesUnderstanding the societal issues and responding to them requires a person to examine how they live. This is not to say that if a society does things that are wrong or doesn't do anything, it is a society of ill will. I would venture to say that sometimes a society can be doing things that we are less than thrilled with. For example, in a very simplistic view, a society that constantly assaults its own kind is not a very appealing society. I have some very big beefs with that society. But, while my beefs with this society may be petty, there are other things that I find very, very disconcerting about this society. The society certainly doesn't support social justice or civil rights for men.Once a person has an understanding of the societal issues that confront our civilization, it's time to look at solutions to them. A very common solution that I hear is people start a foundation. That is a good idea, but the problem with foundations is that they can get bogged down in day-to-day issues and organizational problems. A foundation can only really do so much when you are dealing with today's problems. When you are looking at solutions for societal issues, you need to look at them from a bigger picture. What can you do today?By looking at things from a bigger picture, you can prepare yourself for tomorrow, and the consequences that can arise from tomorrow's actions. If you use your resources effectively, then you can easily anticipate and prepare for the consequences of your decisions.Solving a problem the day it is introduced is very difficult. It requires a lot of planning and organization. It also means that you need to have the ability to forecast and act on these problems. But, you need to be aware that as you deal with societal issues, the ramifications are bound to change and you need to be prepared to deal with those changes. You need to know what is coming and how to prepare for it.Understanding the societal issues, how they impact you, and how you can adjust to changes, is the key to the future of civilization. Understanding the threats and vulnerabilities is a major part of being prepared for the changes that are coming. Knowing how to change your behavior is crucial to being prepared for the changes that are coming.
